Our family owned fishing and hunting store has been operating in Canmore since 1989.
The family dream was to open a sporting goods store with a focus on fishing and hunting supplies. And Canmore stole the heart of the Schlachter brothers as the perfect location. You see our family has been fishing crazy and had a passion for the mountains for as long as we can remember. We were born and raised in Bow Island, AB but were always excited to head to Banff every year for family time in the mountains… and of course fishing time.
As our business continued to grow and evolve, Wapiti Sports & Outfitters soon became the Bow Valley’s Fishing and Hunting Headquarters.
We are honored to be part of the Bow Valley Business Community and are grateful to all of our customers and guests who travel from near and far to visit our store; and allow us the opportunity to share our passion with them through in store experiences and our guided fishing adventures.
